Currently we are redesigning our website o our online booking facility is unavailable, however, you can still join us for a cooking class and forage by booking directly with Amanda or Bookings Manager. Please email amanda@crackinggoodfood.org. Thank you for your patience and understanding, we’re looking forward to cooking with you!

What is foraging?

We have a rolling programme of wild food forages run by James Wood an Ofqual (gov) accredited forager. James runs engaging foraging courses, supplies the UK’s top restaurants with freshly foraged wild ingredients along with the UK’s best farm shops and delicatessens with foraged preserves. James teaches groups how to successfully identify edible plants . You can’t be much more seasonal eating wild food and our foraging walks reflect this, with special mushroom hunts in the autumn and elder flower picking in the summer.

Wild food forages take place in Didsbury, Chorlton, Sale, Hebden Bridge, Macclesfield and Heaton Park.

Family-friendly events

3-hour guided forage in £30 (Children under 16 and concessions £15)

6-hour guided forage with 3-course foraged meal: £70 (Children under 16 and concessions £35)

Private group foraging trips available

Remember to dress for all weathers and wear suitable footwear for walking on muddy paths.

Please note that not all our foraging events are not suitable for wheelchair users or individuals with mobility issues – whilst the pace is gentle, you need to be comfortable being on your feet and be happy to climb over the occasional stile! Please do get in touch and we will let you know which route is most suitable.
