Cracking Good
Christmas
Appeal
Cooking up festive food for 250 people experiencing homelessness & poverty in Manchester this Christmas

Usually over Christmas, our Cookery School sessions, foraging expeditions and community cooking projects take a pause and our team takes a well-deserved break. This year however, we will be working as part of a wider support network including Lifeshare charity, Niamos Centre in Hulme and Brunswick Church in Ardwick to provide a range of support and services for people experiencing poverty, homelessness and social isolation this Christmas. We will be preparing, cooking and distributing 250 Cracking Good Christmas meals and our partner organisations will be organising a range of wellbeing services, such as a clothes bank, healthcare practitioners and doggy well-being services.

How can you help?
1. Buy a Cracking Good Christmas gift:

2. Make a – donation
Make a donation to our Christmas Appeal in someone’s name, and we will send an e-certificate, letting them know how your gift will help pay for us to cook up 150 Cracking Good Christmas Dinners to be served up at the Lifeshare Christmas Meal and an additional 100 dinners and portions of hot soup for those in need of a little warmth and support in Ardwick and Hulme on Christmas Day.
You could even cover a particular cost – here are some ideas:

- £5 covers the ingredients for 7 portions of winter vegetable soup and the containers to serve them in
- £15 pays for us to hire a kitchen for one hour
- £22.50 would pay for all the parsnips we need
- £121.40 will buy us all the veg we need

3. Sponsorship
Can your group, family or organisation cover our entire costs of £2400?
In addition to all the good-feels this sponsorship would bring to your group and the benefits it would bring to so many people living in poverty this Christmas, we will provide your group with a FREE tailor-made online live CookAlong for up to 20 participants, worth £450!
Led by one of our skilled and knowledgeable Cooking Leaders, our CookAlongs are a great fun and Covid-safe chance to bring people together and learn some new ‘seasonal recipes and’ cookery skills!?
We would also be thanking you from the rooftops, and your support would be featured across our [NewsFEED] and socials, reaching over 9.4k people.

We need volunteers!
We have been overwhelmed by kind offers to volunteer over Christmas and we now have a team in place. Thank you to everyone who has offered support – we really do appreciate it.
However, going forward into 2021 we do need volunteers to support our Covid Emergency Food Response output – kitchen assistant, packers and delivery drivers are all required to support us to cook and distribute over 1000 meals a week to those pushed into isolation and food poverty due to Covid 19
Please email info@crackinggoodfood.org if you can help and sign up to our [NewsFEED] to hear about upcoming projects needing volunteers.
