Pantry Pods

Inspiring and supporting healthy, affordable and sustainable eating

amongst Stockport Pantry shoppers.

Our pop-up, Covid safe ‘Pantry Pods’ project will see our Cracking Good team setting up a gazebo-covered portable cooking station outside 2 different Stockport Pantry locations throughout April and May, to demonstrate new cooking skills and distribute windowsill herb plants, recipes, basic cooking equipment sourced from out ‘Kitchen Kit Call Out’ and plenty pf CGF pearls of cooking-affordably-on-a-budget wisdom to boot!

The ‘Pantry Pods’ have been kindly funded by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council via their Stockport Local Community Support Fund.

The project, which has been devised by Cracking Good Food together with Stockport Pantries, aims to increase the health and wellbeing of shoppers at Stockport pantries by introducing them to new cooking skills and recipe ideas which incorporate healthy ingredients available to them as part of their Pantry shopping.

We will also be distributing basic kitchen equipment such as wooden spoons, whisks and baking trays to help support people experiencing low income and with limited equipment to have the opportunity to cook-from-scratch. Fresh windowsill herb plants will also be handed out, providing a home growing opportunity to each shopper, along with top tips on using fresh herbs to add huge flavour to almost any dish. We can’t wait to meet the shoppers at Stockport Pantries and inspire them to have new cooking adventures!

At Cracking Good Food we always say that eating affordable, healthy and sustainably sourced food is possible IF you know WHAT to cook and HOW. We are here to support and upskill as many people as possible to cook-from-scratch using fresh ingredients because EVERYONE deserves good food.
